Tunisia calls on the different Lebanese protagonists to make dialogue prevail
Tunis, May 8, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--Following the latest developments in Lebanon , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued the following communiqué:
“Tunisia is following with deep concern the evolution of the security situation in Lebanon , following the serious events that have taken place in some areas of Lebanon since Thursday and which run the risk of getting out of control”.
Tunisia calls upon all Lebanese protagonists to show restraint, to make Lebanon 's higher interest prevail and to preserve the country's national unity, security and stability.
It reiterates its call to all sides to avoid escalation and violence, to make dialogue prevail and to use peaceful means to settle their differences.
Tunisia voices the hope that the brotherly Lebanese people will manage to overcome this difficult juncture, in such a way as to preserve Lebanon from all dangers and negative fallouts".
