Tunis , June 21, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--The students of the second promotion of the national school of the arts of the circus (ENACT)gave on Friday evening at the Halfaouine Theatre in Tunis a show dubbed ‘sarkha' ( the cry of the new born infant).
The show which was staged by Laurence Levasseur from France , consisted of several artistic frescoes executed with agility, talent and strength by the students, crowning in style four years of training within the school.
The young artists dazzled the audience with a show where they freely expressed their talent in an open space, by resorting to several staging devices, played on the rhythms of both modern and classical music.
On this occasion, Mr Mohamed Driss, the president of the national school of arts of the circus, expressed the hope of seeing these young artists perform in major festivals in the Arab world and in international cultural events.
In a related event, the school organizes jointly with the French Cooperation Institute, a cycle of film screenings dedicated to the circus. The screenings which are scheduled to take place from June 21 to 25, 2008 at the Halfaouine main square, will include such films as the “Circus” by Charlie Chaplin, “La Strada” by Frederico Fellini, “Bye Bye Black Bird” by Robinson Sawaray and the “Monstrous” Parade by Todd Browning.
