Artistic exchange between Tunisian and German painters featured at German museum of contemporary art
Tunis , June 30, 2007 (TunisiaOnline) --From June 23 to August 12, 2007 the Osnabrück museum of contemporary art, in Germany is hosting a joint Tunisian German painting exhibit dubbed “One and the other”. The exhibit which is placed under the motto ‘sharing and exchanging', is the second edition of a first encounter that took place under the cupola of the Carthage Acropolium in 2005 on the theme “Encounter in blue”.
Between paintings, collages, and photographs the Tunisian and German perceptions of the world gradually merge to reach a universal dimension. “One and the Other” thus becomes a place of gathering and sharing where art plays the major role in connecting people together, or in Edward Glissant's apt phrase in “Changing through exchanging”.
The works displayed include among others on the Tunisian side, those by Hela Ammar, Feryal Lakhdar, Abderrazak Sahli and Jamel Sghaier, and on the German side the works of Frank Gillich, Christinne Hoffmann, Monika Witte and Sabine Kurzel, to name but some of the names of the artists who have taken part in this singular but emotionally rewarding experience.
