The Movement of Socialist Democrats (MDS) celebrates its 29th anniversary
Tunis , June 24, 2007 (TunisiaOnline) --In a statement released in Tunis the Movement of Socialist Democrats, one of Tunisia's 8 opposition parties, reaffirms the Movement's commitment to contribute to the success of President Ben Ali's projects of laying the foundations of tomorrow's republic, guaranteeing individual and collective rights and consecrating political and social pluralism.
The statement was issued on the occasion of the Movement's 29 th anniversary.
The statement also evokes the founding principles of the movement which was set up on June 10, 1978, while pointing out that the Declaration of the November 7, 1987 Change, as well as that of the national pact , which consecrated national reconciliation and benefited from popular support, have prompted the MDS to take part in all national electoral events.
The movement expresses its satisfaction at the efforts exerted by the Head of State to further promote the national media landscape and to win the stakes of employment, notably among the university diploma holders.
