African soul legend Manu Dibango will perform in Tunisia
Tunis , June 15, 2007 (TunisiaOnline)--Manu Dibango the famous saxophonist and creator of “Soul Makossa “ will perform on June 20, 2007 at the “El Karaka” Mediterranean cultural space in La Goulette, north of Tunis.
Manu Dibango, one of the inventors of world music, as well as one of the major musical figures on the African continent, has already performed in Tunisia a number of times. A gifted composer and musician who can play a number of instruments such as the piano, the saxophone, the Vibraphone and the Marimba, the African artist is also UNESCO ambassador for peace.
Dibango's musical eclecticism has led him to take part in diverse musical experiences such as classical music, jazz and African music which he has exported through the world adding to it his own unmistakable sound.
At 70 years old, the artist is still as sprightly as he was some 40 years ago when he created his best known hit “Soul Makossa”.
