Tunis will soon host the Tunisian-French Economic Forum

Tunis , June, 6, 2007 (TunisiaOnline) --From June 18 to 20, 2007 , the Tunisian Union of Industry and Commerce (UTICA) and the Tunisian-French Chamber of Commerce and Industry will jointly organize a Tunisian -French economic forum.

The forum which will be attended by more than 20 French businessmen led by Mr Jean Burelle, the President of the Medef-International and Mr Eric Hayat, the president of the Tunisian committee at the Medef.

The Tunisian side will be represented respectively by Mr Nouri Jouini, Minister of development and international cooperation and Hedi Djilani the president of the UTICA .

The sectors involved in the forum comprise civil engineering companies, energy, finances, transport, electronic industry, the environment and ICT's.

France is Tunisia 's first economic and trade partner.

-August 12, 2006- President Ben Ali reaffirms Tunisia’s commitment to the code of personal status, a pioneering legislation adopted in 1956, which has granted Tunisian women equal rights with men. The code has banned polygamy, forced marriages and repudiation.
