New trilingual edition of Tunisia 's Code of Personal Status is published
Tunis, July 2, 2008 (TunisiaOnline)--The Centre of Juridical and Judicial Studies which is part of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, has recently published a deluxe, 965 page edition of the Code of Personal Status, the first of its kind in three languages, including Arabic, French and English. The new edition is enriched by Tunisian comparative jurisprudence.
A team of qualified magistrates was entrusted with the English translation of the Code of Personal Status, as well as its provisions.
The new edition also comprises a detailed list of references and memoirs in both Arabic and French, based on the different aspects of the Code of Personal Status, as well as articles, written by magistrates, lawyers and researchers in the field.
This new edition of one of Tunisia's most innovative and progressive legislative apparatus based on ‘Ijtihad', moderation and the golden mean , reinforces other recent publications by the Centre, such as the Code of commercial companies, the Code of international private law, also published in three languages and enriched by Tunisian comparative jurisprudence.
