New Secretary General for Democratic Constitutional Rally

Dr Hedi Mhenni was named secretary general of the Democratic Constitutional Rally, Tunisia's majority party (RCD). The appointment of Dr Mhenni by President Ben Ali follows Wednesday's partial cabinet reshuffle.

Mr Hedi Mhenni who served previously as Public Health, Interior and National Defense Minister, succeeds Mr Ali Chaouch, who was named, this week, Minister of Social Affairs, Solidarity and Tunisians Abroad.
